Beach on the Lake of As Pontes
A beach in a privileged natural landscape.
This beach is located in the Lake of As Pontes, close to the centre of the village. It is the result of the environmental regeneration of the lignite mine working many years to supply the power station.
The beach was opened in the summer of 2012, has a size of 400 metres and has blue flag. It is inside the Lake of As Pontes, with 5 Km long, 2 Km wide and a perimeter of 18 Km, being almost half of it a public path.
The creation of the lake is the result of a project of environmental regeneration of an open-air mine. It was filled with the water from streams in the area and rain water.
