Mural "As feiras" (Fairs)
This brigh mural catches the essence of fairs held in As Pontes.
Fairs are an important economic and social event in Galicia. In them people exchange products from the land (vegetables, meat, fish, eggs, cheese, honey…) and social relationships are created.
Lucía Escrigas was the person selected to show the essence of a fair in a mural, on the fair field. In As Pontes there is a fair every fortnight, at least since 1788. It takes place every 1st and 15th each month.
The mural by Lucía Escrigas is located in the junction between the Rúa Campo da Feira and Rúa 8 de marzo.
