Centro Expositivo da Maquinaria Mineira das Pontes "CEMAM" (exhibition of minign machinery)
Machines and human beings together in a space talking about the titanic work of coal mining in As Pontes.
It is a space, located in the old unitary school of Saa, holding a permanent exhibition about machinery used when getting coal from As Pontes. Through old pictures, models of machines and audio-visual documents, visitors will be able to know the facilities and equipment linked to the mining activity, as well as the establishment of new lifestyles and work and their traces in the land.
The CEMAM has an exhibition of 70 models belonging to Manuel Barro García, ex-worker of the mine of As Pontes and creator of these models, machines he used and others older. It is an exhibition to travel in time through the photos of the writer and journalist Ramón Loureiro Calvo, who immortalised with his Leica M6 machines and men changing the landscape of As Pontes.
