Mill of Alende
A beautiful mill with history in the centre of the village.
It dates back to 1805, as we can read on the engraving on the lintel of the main gate. It belongs to several neighbours, who used to take turns to use it. It was known as Acea da Vila or Acea das Maciñeiras and it was used by several families to grind cereals.
The building is a beautiful structure made of gneiss, and it still has the mechanism the water used to move the wheel. On the surroundings of the mill remain the dam and the canal used to provide the mill with water.
