Ponte dos Ferros (bridge)
The entrance to the village of García Rodríguez through the river Eume.
Tradition tells us it was built in the 15th century by the command of García Rodríguez de Valcarce, lord of As Pontes, grandson of Nuno Freire de Andrade. The building characteristics make it very likely to be prior to García Rodríguez.
It is located over the river Eume and it is the entrance to the medieval village of As Pontes, where one of the gates of the wall was. It was built with stonework. Its biggest arch, slightly pointed, belongs to the Gothic style; the other arch is a semicircular arch, since it was rebuilt after a swelling of the river Eume.
Its present-day name makes reference to the wrought iron rail added in the extension of 1902.
