Mural "Artist who turn dreams with the passing of time"
This pictorial work pays tribute to wood turners, a profession with a long historic tradition in As Pontes, still alive nowadays.
The profession of woodturner has a long historic tradition in the council of As Pontes. This know-how is present nowadays thanks to two people: Lolo Castro and Fernando Vérez.
The mural is on the façade of Severiano’s mill, in the historic centre, beside the old bridge. Severiano was a miller and a turner, profession his son Lolo learnt.
It is a work by Diego Cereijo, who used a drawing as a model to paint on the wall. Cereijo spoke with the turners of the Asociación Amigos da Madeira. In the mural we can see key points of the profession and Lolo Castro and Fernando Vérez.
This work can be seen in the Rúa da Igrexa, in the number 29, Severiano’s mill.
