Roman Bridge
A bridge to be printed in a postcard over the river. Chamoselo
Popular belief gives this bridge the honour to be the oldest bridge in As Pontes, placing its origin in the Roman times and therefore its name.
The bridge might have been built around the 14th century. Oddly enough, it is within the contour of a Roman site linked to an old communication path between Lucus Augusti and the Atlantic coasts. It has a semicircular arch and a plain wall made of slate, both flying over the river Chamoselo.
Until very recently, there were some centenary oaks on the side of the bridge, being one of them the home of the legendary Xaquín das Herbas.
