Church of Saint Mary of Ribadeume

Church of Saint Mary of Ribadeume

An old church which keeps a medieval sepulchre.
The parish of Ribadeume is continuously mentioned throughout the Middle Ages (Sancta Maria de Ripa Eume). In the 70's, remainders from the medieval necropolis of Ribadeume appeared next to the church.

The present-day temple is a simple and plain building with just one nave. Its walls are made of rough-coating stonework. The corners, gates and windows are made of granite stonework. The apse is finished with a groin vault, and the entrance is through a slightly pointed semicircular arch. Several neogothic niches stand out on the graveyard.
