Church of Saint John of O Aparral

Church of Saint John of O Aparral

A church located in a very beautiful landscape.
It is located on a beautiful place reminding of typical rural parish churches. It has a rectangular ground plan with only one nave, and with the sacristy attached.

It has two porches covering the entrances to the temple. The bell tower is separated from the building. St John of O Aparral had the privilege of being a shelter church, so that any person inside it had church asylum and defence over Justice punishments.

Until some decades ago, O Aparral had an old brotherhood over souls. The Brotherhood of Souls was founded again in the 18th century and it was alive until the mid-20th century. Burials of the members were very attractive, accompanied by a procession of torches.
