Praza da Igrexa (Church Square)
This square is the centre of the historic set of the village.
The current Plaza de la Iglesia (church square) is the centre of the “Vila”, the name by which the historic center is known. This urban element, in its present morphology, is due to a council work from 1990.
It has its historical origin in the small squares that formed the streets Real and Iglesis, which were called by various names throughout time, one of them Plaza Real. In 1990 the space was expanded by demolishing the group of houses that stood in the center of the town.
In the center of the square, the calvary of the parish church of St Mary of As Pontes was erected. A fountain was installed at the base of the cross.
