Football Field in “O Poboado”

This field is part of the building plan of the neighbourhood of As Veigas and it is where the historic Club Deportivo As Pontes plays.
These sports facilities have a grass field for practicing football, an athletics track and a covered stand for spectators.

The football pitch is closely linked to the industrial and sporting history of As Pontes de García Rodríguez. The field was built as part of the city planned for workers built in As Veigas by the National Company Calvo Sotelo.

The Club Deportivo As Pontes plays on this field. This club was born under the name of Calvo Sotelo in 1960. With the arrival of Endesa to As Pontes it was renamed Club Deportivo Endesa and since 2002 it has the current name Club Deportivo As Pontes. The team plays in the Third Division. They spent nine seasons in Second B, where they were ranked fourth (1991-1992 season).
