Mural "A nosa orixe" (Our origin)
Mural tribute to the forefathers of music in As Pontes with the first music band in 1909.
“A nosa orixe” (our origin) remembers the creation of the first music band in As Pontes in 1909. Don Juan, the parish priest of Ribadeume and Bermui introduced many young people to music.
The band of Ribadeume became the band of A Capela in 1928. It stops in 1943 and their musicians form two of the most famous orchestras of the area; “Los Rivadeumes” and “River”.
The mural was made by Mario Vérez and it is a tribute to the forefathers of music in as Pontes.
The mural is located in the Avenida de Vilalba, in the number 2, opposite the Post Office.
