Monument to José María Rivera Corral
Monument in homage to the founder of Estrella Galicia, who was born in the neighbourhood of O Chamoselo.
The surname Rivera is associated to the main beer company in Galicia, Estrella Galicia. Its founder was José María Rivera, born in the neighbourhood of O Chamoselo, in As Pontes de García Rodríguez.
Rivera emigrated to Cuba and Mexico and returned to Galicia, where he starts his beer business, being in the hands of the fourth generation nowadays.
The monument was settled in 2006, year of the centenary of the founding of Estrella Galicia. It is a representation of José María Rivera with a hat and walking stick.
The statue is in the Rúa Seis, nest to the Central de Prieto.
